Private Arthur Foster

Private Arthur Foster was the son of Mrs Margaret Foster, of Todmorden, and husband of Lily Foster, of Stanwix, Carlisle. He served with 11 Platoon, B Company of 1st Battalion, Border Regiment (Airborne) and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Private Foster died on 21 September 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
