Sergeant Andrew O Walker

Andrew Ogilvie Walker was the husband of Jean Walker, of Glasgow. He enlisted in the Black Watch (The Royal Highland Regiment) and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Walker successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Kabrit, Egypt, and was posted to Mortar Platoon, 156 Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and took part in operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Walker was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 33, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
