Sergeant Alfred Waterhouse

Sergeant Alfred Waterhouse was the son of William and Rose Waterhouse, and husband of Olive Waterhouse, of Failsworth, Lancashire. He served with 1st Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment and took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Sergeant Waterhouse died of wound on 4 October 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
