Alf Harland passed out of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Depot in Platoon Intake 102 and qualified as a military parachutist on Course 441 which ran at RAF Abingdon from 25 March to 17 April 1957.

I served with Alf in the MT platoon 1 Para in Cyprus 1958. Alf had his vehicle blown by a land mine while doing the early morning mail run up Troodos with injuries to his face and eye. It was supposed to be my run but we had changed over for the day.
