Alexander Reid enlisted into the Seaforth Highlanders before volunteering for airborne forces in May 1944.
He successfully completed his parachute training on course 121 on 1 July 1944. It was noted that he was "Unhesitant and keen."
Private Reid was posted to was posted to 9th (Essex) Parachute Battalion.
Pte Reid died on 17 April 1945 and is now buried in Hanover War Cemetery, Germany.
