Alexander Murdoch Stevenson, son of Thomas and Agnes Stevenson, of Paisley, Renfrewshire, enlisted into the Royal Artillery and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
Private Stevenson attended parachute course 36 at RAF Ringway from 6 to 12 November 1942 and was posted to 2nd Parachute Battalion and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte Stevenson was Killed in Action on 10 March 1943, aged 30. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
