Alexander Leslie Goodsir (known as Harry) served in D Company, 2nd Battalion Ox and Bucks Light Infantry during the Second World War.

D Coy and elements of B Coy formed a Coup de Main force, tasked with an attack on the bridges over the River Orne and adjacent Canal in advance of the Normandy landings in June 1944. It subsequently became known as the attack on Pegasus Bridge and proved to be one of the most remarkable British Airborne actions during the Second World War
