Sergeant Albert John Dallimore

Albert John Dallimore was the son of Harold and Mary Dallimore, of Oakham, Staffordshire. He enlisted in the Royal Engineers, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Dallimore successfully completed Glider Pilot training and was posted to B Squadron, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Dallimore was killed in action near Van Borsselenweg on 21 September 1944, aged 28, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
