Albert Joseph Holtom volunteered for airborne forces and took part in parachute training course 15 at RAF Ringway. The course lasted from the 8th -16th June 1942. 

Upon successful completion of his parachute course, Cpl Holtom saw service in North Africa attached under the Army Catering Corps to the 2nd Parachute Battalion.

Cpl Holtom passed away peacefully at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth on 29th January 2003, with his three children at his bedside.
