Private Albert Howes

Albert Howes was born and lived in East London, he enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment, and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Private Howes successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Howes was killed in action on 2 April 1945, and was given a field burial at Lengerich, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 28 April 1947.
