Sergeant Albert E Ellis

Sergeant Albert Edward Ellis, son of Albert and Florence Ellis, of Southend-on-Sea, and husband of Winifred Esther Ellis, also of Southend, served with 5 Platoon, S Coy, 1st Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.

Sergeant Ellis died during the Battle of Gue Hill on 25 November 1942, aged 31 years old. He is now buried at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
