Trooper Alan G Ashley

Alan George Ashley was the son of Harold Fisher and Margaret Frances (Jones) Ashley, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and later volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Alan successfully completed parachute training and was posted to B Squadron, 1st Special Air Service Regiment, Army Air Corps.

He was murdered by a Nazi firing squad on 7 July 1944, aged 24 and is now buried in Rom Communal Cemetery, Southern France.
