Captain Alan B Clements

Alan Borders Clements was the son of Reginald Valentine and Alice Mary Clements, of Hastings, Sussex, he was granted a commission and volunteered for airborne forces.

Captain Clements successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to HQ Company, attached 3rd Parachute Brigade, and took part in Operation Torch (North Africa), Operation Slapstick (Italy), and Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

He was Mentioned in Despatches

Capt Clements was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 26, and was given a field burial near Merr, Germany and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany, on 18 March 1947.
