Lance Sergeant Ernie Plumb

Lance Sergeant Ernie Plumb served with the Coldstream Guards. He transferred to No 1 (Guards) Independent Parachute Company in the late 1950s.

During his service with Guards Parachute Coy, he was deployed on several overseas tours to Germany as part of the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR), Norway, Malta, Cyprus and Libya. He enjoyed a strong affinity with the Coy over his nearly three year service to 1961 and said recently: "Best Company in the British Army...Should never have been disbanded!"

He was very active in the veterans community, as a member of the Guards Parachute Association. Ernie was a Stalwart loyal member of the GPA and attended many reunions with his Dear Wife Lynn and Every year attended the Cenotaph and Marched with his GPA  Blue Red Blue Airborne Comrades , he also ran our GPA Shop for many years He sadly passed away 1 May 2021
