Private Joseph E A Aubin

 Joseph Ernest Albert Aubin was the son of Albert Zenophile and Jeanette Aubin. He enlisted into the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps on 30 November 1942, and volunteered for Airborne forces.

He was 5' 6", 124 Ibs, medium complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, 20/20 vision

Pte Aubin arrived in the UK on 22 May 1943 and successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway, England, on course number 87, from 13 to 25 October 1943. His course report stated “Quiet, works hard, should do well”. He was posted to C company, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion  and took part in operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Aubin was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 21, and was given a field burial at Granges. He was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery on 1 June 1945.
