A Jeep and 6 Pounder Anti-Tank gun were used for heavy drop trials by the Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment during World War II. Each piece was dropped from a Halifax bomber under four 60 ft parachutes. The Jeep hit the ground at forty feet per second and was extensively damaged.
