He was known as Iron Jaw in the Depot as an APTI. One hell of an act to try and follow. After a jump on our return to the airfield where we were due to fly back to Bahrain we found a Hastings aircraft and thought we were to fly back in it. Sgt Andrews (I think that was his rank then) said "I want to fly in that much less than you, but if we must, we must". On rounding a corner we found a big, fat, slow Beverly - a most welcome sight!
