Preparing the parachute equipment before our first jump from Skyvan, 1996

Preparing the PX Mk4 Parachute ready for our first jump from the Skyvan. This was replaced by the LLP Low Level Parachute.

The new Parachute had a lower speed of descent from around 17 feet per second to around 15 feet per second. It also allowed a low jump height down to around 250 feet on operations. Lucky for us ours was from 1000 feet, until our qualifying jump at 800 feet.
