Readers should note there are some discrepancies in this account with the accepted chronology of events, in particular the Brummen truck massacre. The subsequent War Crimes investigation, and other personal accounts record that only two men jumped from the truck, Tony Hibbert, who escaped, and Dennis Munford, who was captured almost immediately.
