Distinguished Service Cross (US)

Awarded for extreme gallantry and risk of life in combat with an armed enemy force, the DSC (Distinguished Service Cross) is the second highest military decoration that can be awarded to a member of the United States Army. The act of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his comrades.
