Scimitar Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle

Originally a member of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance Vehicle Tracked (CVRT) family of vehicles from the 1960s, the Scimitar provides powerful support to Airborne Operations. It is operated by D Squadron, Household Cavalry which is attached to 16 Air Assault Brigade with a role to act as the “eyes and ears” for commanders.

The vehicle's exceptionally low ground pressure and small size make it useful where the terrain is hostile and movement difficult. Scimitar carries a 30mm Rarden cannon for self-defence.
