A W Kingston volunteered for airborne forces in 1943 and qualified as a military parachutist on course 82 which ran at RAF Ringway from 13 to 23 September 1943 and served in A Company, 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. The course report reads ‘Sgt Kingston: Good type of NCO fine leader, performance good.’
‘Jack’ Kingston became a section Sgt of 2 Platoon, A Company.
