Roll Call Lance Corporal Roy C Hyatt {One of "The Borstal Boys!"} - October 10th 1925 – May 9th 2000

Roy Cedric Hyatt served with The South Staffordshire Regiment before transferring to the Army Air Corps (Paras) and  qualified as a military parachutist on Course 128 which ran at RAF Ringway from 7 to 20 August 1944.

He later served with the Anti-Tank Pl, HQ Coy, 8th Parachute Bn, 3rd Parachute Brigade, 6 Airborne Div and deployed with the battalion to North West Europe for the Ardennes, Rhine Crossing and the subsequent Advance to the Baltic. 

L/Cpl Hyatt went on to serve for two years in Palestine with the 8th Battalion prior to demobilisation in December 1947.
