Robert Richard Williams was born in Chepstow in 1933 and at Oswestry September 1955 he enlisted into 68th Selection Regiment, Royal Artillery.
He volunteered for airborne forces in and passed parachute training course 418 at RAF Abingdon in March 1956.
Lance Bombardier ‘Rab’ Williams was posted to 33rd Parachute Field Regiment RA in C Troop, 97 (L.awson’s Company) Para Battery and served in Cyprus and Aden.
