Private Mark Holman-Smith served with Signals Platoon Company, Headquarters Company, 2 PARA.

Pte Holman-Smith, Sigs Pln, HQ Coy was attached to C Company 2 PARA, during Operation Corporate.

19 year old Pte Holman-Smith was killed by oerlikon fire from the airfield at Goose Green whilst moving forward to recover a GPMG from a wounded Recce Platoon soldier, Private Russell as the company advanced down a forward slope towards the schoolhouse.

Pte Holman-Smith is buried at San Carlos Cemetery, Falkland Islands.
