Leonard Patrick Wright enlisted in 1954 for national service and volunteered for airborne forces.
He undertook parachute training course 380 at RAF Abingdon which ran from 28 June to 22 July 1954, he was then posted to 1 PARA.
Pte Wright saw service in Cyprus and Suez and was demobbed in 1957.
Len Wright's son Wilbur Wright went on to follow in his father's footsteps serving with airborne forces in Sierra Leone and Iraq.
