Roll Call Lance Sergeant John MacHenry – September 22nd 1944

Lance Sergeant John MacHenry was the son of Alexander and Agnes MacHenry, and husband of Kathleen Dodds MacHenry, of Kirkcudbright. He served with 2 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery. He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

He died on 22 September 1944, aged 30 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
