Roll Call Sergeant James Young – June 6th 1944

Sergeant James Young, son of John Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Young, of Omagh, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland, served with 9th (Essex) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.

Sergeant Young died on 6 June 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
