Private James William Barlow, son of Alfred Alexander Barlow and Eleanor Barlow, of Greenwich, London, served with 7 Platoon, C Company, 11th Parachute Battalion. He was part of the 2nd Lift to Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
The aircraft carrying Barlow was shot down enroute to Arnhem.
Private Barlow died on 18 September 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Wageningen General Cemetery, at Wageningen, west of Arnhem.
