Roll Call Private Herbert C Lane – August 22nd 1944

Private Herbert Cedric Lane, son of Charles and Elizabeth Lane, of Greenfield, Bedfordshire, served with 12th (Yorks) Parachute Battalion (formerly 10th Bn, Green Howards). He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.

Private Lane died on 22 August 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
