Sapper Gilbert Taylor, son of Mr and Mrs William Taylor, of Cardenden, Fife, served with 1st Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem during Op Market Garden.
He died on 21 September 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery.
