Private George Neil, son of Mr and Mrs C J Neil, of Hornsey, Middlesex, served with 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.
Private Neil died on 16 June 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
