Roll Call Sergeant George E Nelson – June 6th 1944

Sergeant George Ernest Nelson was the son of Henry William and Ada Emma Nelson, and husband of Evelyn Mary Nelson, of Chingford, Essex. He served with 12th (Yorks) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.

Sergeant Nelson died on 6 June 1944, aged 29 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
