Roll Call Sapper Frederick Giles {Fred} – June 9th 1944

Sapper Frederick 'Fred' Giles was the son of James and Sarah Giles, and husband of Abigail Giles, of Blackley, Manchester. He served with 249 Field Company (Airborne), Royal Engineers and took part in the Normandy campaign.

Sapper Giles died on 9 June 1944, aged 33 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
