Roll Call Sergeant Francis R Villis – June 7th 1944

Sergeant Francis Richard Villis was the son of Francis Henry and Edith Maud Villis, and husband of Kathleen Jessie Villis, of Kingston, Somerset. He served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.

Sergeant Villis died on 7 June 1944, aged 31 years old. He is now buried at Hermanville War Cemetery, Hermanville-sur-Mer, Normandy.
