Private Edward Fletcher

Edward Fletcher is the son of John Thomas Fletcher and Frances Fletcher, of Gateshead, Co. Durham.

He successfully completed his parachute training at Ringway on 6 October 1945. It was noted that he was a 'good performer, cheerful, smart, well disciplined.'

Private Fletcher was posted to the holding Battalion before being transferred to the 6th (Royal Welch) Battalion where he served in Palestine.

He died on 14 October 1946 , aged 21 years old and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
