Private Derek Nicholl, son of Joe and Jessie Nicholl, of Halifax, Yorkshire, served with 13th (South Lancs) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Allied response to the Ardennes offensive in Winter 1944-5.
Private Nicholl died on 3 January 1945, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Hotton War Cemetery, Luxembourg.
