Gunner Dennis J T Anderson

Dennis James Thomas Anderson, son of James William Henry and Rose Anderson, of Swilly, Plymouth, enlisted into the General Service Corps. He later volunteered for airborne forces.

Gunner Anderson then served with 53rd (Worcester Yeomanry) Airlanding Light Regiment RA. The 53rd Airlanding Light Regiment's first deployment was on Operation Overlord, which marked the start of the liberation of France from German occupation.

Gunner Anderson was killed on 11 August 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
