Denis William Cason was one of only a few glider pilots who flew on four operations.
As well as Sicily, Holland and Germany he was part of Operation Dingson where a number of gliders were landed in Brittany after D Day with members of the French SAS.
Details of Denis' experiences have been published in the Army Air Corps Journal, 'The Last Drop' by Stephen Wright and 'History of the Glider Pilot Regiment' by Claude Smith.
The family has donated his log books, letters, uniform and other items to the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop, near Stockbridge in Hampshire.
