Corporal David Cowan

Corporal David Cowan volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and attended parachute training course number 109 at RAF Ringway between27 March and 7 April 1944. His course report stated: 'steady and reliable, has jumped well.'

Cpl Cowan served with B Company, 8th Parachute Regiment and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.

Cpl Cowan died on 16 June 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
