Private D C Fox enlisted into The Sherwood Foresters and then volunteered for airborne forces during World War II.
He qualified as a military parachutist on course 91 which ran at RAF Ringway from 11 to 26 November 1943 and served in 1 Platoon, A Company, 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion.
Pte Fox was wounded on the Rhine drop on 24 March 1945
