Sergeant Cyril 'Jack' Watts served with Airborne Forces in 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion, and was killed in action during the Rhine Crossing.
Cyril John Watts, known as 'Jack, was born in August 1913, and was the youngest son of John and Lilian Watts.
He enlisted in the Army in 1930, and joined Airborne Forces during the Second World War following a transfer from the South Staffordshire Regiment.
Sergeant Watts completed Parachute Course 53 at RAF Ringway in mid-March 1943, and joined HQ Company of the 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity on 24 March 1945.
Sergeant Watts died on 24 March 1945, aged 34 years old. He is now buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, at Kleve, Germany.
