Captain Charles E Stone

Captain Charles Edward Stone, son of Captain Charles Edward Stone (Royal. Navy) and Charlotte Stone, of Bambridge, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, served with 53rd (Worcester Yeomanry) Airlanding Light Regiment RA during the Second World War.

The 53rd Airlanding Light Regiment's first deployment was on Operation Overlord, which marked the start of the liberation of France from German occupation.

Captain Stone was killed on 30 June 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
