Bryan Dodsworth joined the Paras at the same time as Joe Hawker at the Wolverhampton recruiting office.
Both men served with The 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (3 PARA) and took part in the deployment to Cyprus during the EOKA campaign in 1956.
Bryan's son, Mark, also went on to serve in 3 PARA, but sadly died in the Battle for Mount Longdon during the Falklands campaign in 1982.
