Arthur Edward Paxton enlisted into 1 Parachute Provost Platoon, Royal Military Police (V) in April 1973 until it disbanded in 1978.

Sgt Paxton served then with 253 Provost Company RMP (Volunteers) until leaving in April 1982.

In September 1985 Cpl Paxton re-enlisted into 5 Company, 10th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (V) based at Chelsea, and served until November 1989 having served for 13 years.
