Roll Call Private Alfred T Varney – July 10th 1944

Private Alfred Thomas Varney, son of Reginald and Annie Maria Varney, of Chesterton, Oxfordshire, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion and took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.

Private Varney died on 10 July 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at La Delivrande War Cemetery, Douvres-la-Delivrande, near Caen, Normandy.
