Albert Edward Williams, son of John Alfred and Jean Williams, of Alnmouth, Northumberland,enlisted into the East Yorkshire Regiment before volunteering for airborne forces.

He successfully completed his parachute training on 28th January 1945 and it was noted that he was a “confident parachutist, quiet and well disciplined”.

Private Murray was posted to the 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and served in Palestine.

He was killed on 8th June 1946 and is now buried at Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
